Sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol
What is Bacteriostatic Water?
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative, which inhibits bacterial growth. The benzyl alcohol allows for multiple withdrawals from the same vial while maintaining sterility, making it the standard diluent for reconstituting lyophilized research peptides.
It is supplied USP grade, sterile filtered, at pH 5.0–7.0, in a multi-dose glass vial with a rubber stopper and flip-off cap. Unopened shelf life is approximately 2 years from the manufacture date; store at room temperature (15–25 °C), away from direct sunlight, and do not freeze.
After first puncture, refrigeration (2–8 °C) is recommended and the vial should be used within 28 days, always using sterile technique when withdrawing. Discard if the solution becomes cloudy or discolored. This product is intended for laboratory research purposes only.
What is Bacteriostatic Water studied for?
The following research areas represent documented studies available in the scientific literature. We make no claims regarding the benefits, efficacy, or therapeutic applications of this product.
How should Bacteriostatic Water be stored?
Bacteriostatic Water is supplied as a sterile liquid solution in a multi-dose vial — no reconstitution is required.
Store refrigerated (2–8 °C), away from direct light, and do not freeze. Draw with sterile technique.
Discard if the solution becomes cloudy, discolored, or shows visible particulates.
